The ETS-Lindgren Pneumatic Hinged Door (PHD) is a highly reliable RF sealing concept in shielded hinged leaf doors, and offers the most maintenance-free qualities of any competitive door today.
Key Features
- A low maintenance, high performance hinged shielded door for EMI/RFI systems
- Optional remote control panel or standard door mounted push button that opens, closes and seals door automatically
- Self-aligning latching pins that eliminate cam latches
- Warranties cover parts and labor for one year
- Few moving parts or wearing components for minimal maintenance
- Easy to retrofit with existing door on standard modular and welded shielded enclosures
- Interior horizontal panic bar to meet safety egress requirements
Description
Based on the proven sealing concept used in ETS-Lindgren’s sliding door, the PHD design requires no finger stock or gasketing and has few parts to clean and replace.
The PHD model provides 120 dB attenuation from 1 kHz to 10 GHz, and meets customer needs for a dependable, low maintenance shielded door. The door is ideal for “high traffic” areas due to its user friendly design and rapid open/close cycle time.
Construction
Close-up of push button actuator mounted on door leaf.
Featuring a tubular steel frame and steel shielding surface skin attached to the door leaf tube frame, the PHD model evolved from ETS-Lindgren's patented and proven, pneumatically-operated shielded sliding door.
The advanced hinged design is based on metal-to-metal contact for the RF seal. Matching tin arc sprayed surfaces on the leaf and contact frame, compressed together by means of an inflatable bladder, provide a tight and proven seal. Pneumatically operated latching pins hold the door leaf in place while the bladder inflates. An automatic closure device allows “hands free” closure, unlike traditional hinged door designs.
The PHD may be installed in the place of any existing standard shielded leaf door without major modifications. This makes door retrofits or upgrades economical and convenient.
Performance
The PHD exceeds the performance requirements of NSA 65-6 and CID/09/12A when tested in accordance with MIL-STD-285.
Interface Capabilities
The PHD can be integrated with various security systems, fire detection systems and cipher locks. Integration with auto latching, locking hasps and quick release opening mechanisms may also be achieved. The door can be equipped with a ramp for heavy equipment transportation into the shielded area.
